Now, I know what you’re thinking… ‘there’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook–and even Myspace is still floating around cyberspace somewhere–do we really need another one?‘ But Pinterest is different. Pinterest is a visual discovery tool used to collect ideas. I, personally, like to think of Pinterest as my ‘virtual corkboard’–you know those huge boards you see in offices that you tack little ‘forget-me-not’ notes to–yeah, that thing. Let me put it this way, “if you’re not pinning, you’re not winning.” Eghhh, sure it’s corny, but it rhymes and I’m right; there are so many good reasons to join Pinterest!

DIY Project Ideas – DIY projects are great to learn, fun to do, and save you money! Pinterest is full of amazing DIY ideas and instructions. DIY projects come in handy for so many things like creating organization, gifts, or making a better use of old crap around the house!
Trend Alerts – It’s hard not to know what to wear when Pinterest is just a thumb-swipe away! Keep up with all the latest trends and ‘what-to-wear’ rules with a simple keyword search!
Recipes – Who doesn’t love a good recipe? It leaves you looking like a pro just about every time! What’s even better is that Pinterest has all kinds of recipes from food to alcohol to organic skin care recipes!
Gift Ideas – From sentimental DIYs to the funniest ‘gag’ gifts. Pinterest offers an indigestible amount of creative gift ideas.
Decoration Ideas – Remember some those great pictures that accompanied the Valentine’s Day Date article I wrote?–Yep, you guessed it–Pinterest. On top of decoration ideas such as these, there are ton of ideas for children’s bedrooms, themed parties, etc.
Event Planning – Everybody knows the first thing about planning an event is brainstorming ways to beat the last person’s! Whether planning birthday parties, baby showers, weddings or girls’ night.. Pinterest is chock-full of the best ways to help your event go from ‘it was fun’ to ‘OMG who helped you do all of this?!’

- Promotion – Pinterest is an excellent way to spread the word about your business, product, or skill. The act of ‘re-pinning’–which allows someone to share another person’s post–the word will spread faster than ever to potential customers!

Pinterest not only offers all the things I’ve mentioned previously, but allows you to create boards that you can specifically organize all your re-pins into making it even easier to fall in love with Pinterest!
