Last night the 2022 BET HIP-HOP awards show took place, bringing together some of the industry’s greatest creators, influencers, and masters of the hip-hop genre. Hip-hop is unique from all other genres of music (save for R&B) in its ability to influence people. I love the fact that hip-hop gets its own awards show. The 2022 BET hip-hop awards show red carpet was something worth watching. Outside of performances, fashion is one of the main reasons we watch award shows. While some people may or may not listen to hip-hop, everyone saw what was on the red-carpet. For however hot or not, good or bad, the 2022 BET hip-hop awards brought culture and fashion together last night.

The 2022 BET Hip-hop awards show red-carpet had the internet up in flames last night. I liked some red-carpet looks, while some other’s missed the mark by a longshot. There’s only so much blame I put in artists, the other portion of that blame falls to the stylist or creative they consulted before the awards show. Rapper Nelly was honored as the Hip-hop Honoree of the 2022 BET hip-hop awards show.

Different award shows have a different vibe and expectancy when it comes to red-carpet attire. The 2022 BET Hip-hop awards red carpet is an “easy A+” if you ask me. Its not as demanding as other shows and gives a fashion creative the space to express themselves freely. There’s no reason to serve a look that’s giving less than what it should.
