I know you’re upset if you missed CultureCon. It’s been one week, since The Creative Collective NYC closed out their 3-city tour of CultureCon, the fastest-growing conference for multicultural creatives, in New York City with heavy hitters Lena Waithe, Taraji P. Henson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kendrick Sampson, Meagan Good, Tabitha Brown and more dropping some major gems on the stage.
In a day dedicated to bridging community and craft, the audience and speakers alike, gathered to show the prowess of culture and the impact creatives of color continue to have in their industries, in brave spaces and beyond. CultureCon’s Ultimate Homecoming was a mixture of elevated and hard-hitting conversations that further entrenched the conference as a brave space for like-minded visionaries. CultureCon New York was a reminder to all creatives to not only take up spaces, but to own them.
CultureCon is the fastest-growing conference for multicultural creatives and the summit known for tapping some of Hollywood’s biggest and emerging stars. This was the first-ever three-city tour which concluded in New York from October 2nd – 8th, 2022. The seven-day CulureCon NYC conference was jam-packed with programming heavy hitters like HBO Max, LinkedIn, Nike Yardrunners, Netflix, Audible, and many more. Most impressive – is the story of CultureCon.
The Creative Collective NYC, which was born in 2016 in Founder’s Imani Ellis’s one-bedroom apartment in Harlem with 10 friends who shared a vision. Since the event’s first year in New York City’s Meatpacking District, such stars as Spike Lee, John Legend, Sanaa Lathan, Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina King, and Kofi Siriboe have graced it’s stage.
As 2022 is nearing I’m sure we’re all anticipating what Culture Con has in store for us in 2023.
As a Black creative it’s imperative that we have tools and platforms that are curated to help us elevate and walk in our purpose. More importantly be in an environment surrounded by others that want to see us propel. Relationships are the ultimate key to SUCCESS because what you may not know, someone else does. Culture Con is the ultimate event and I highly suggest you stay on radar for the next one so you can be in the room to receive the gems that are dropped!
