You don’t want to be caught without sunscreen on a scorching hot day or be stuck carrying a heavy suitcase full of clothes you won’t need. Here are items to pack for a summer trip:

Summer Vacation

Lightweight and Airy Clothes

Lightweight clothes such as “Bella canvas 3001” T-shirts are perfect for a summer vacation. They’ll keep you cool and comfortable in the hot weather and won’t add too much weight to your suitcase.

Airy clothes ensure you won’t feel suffocated in the heat and can enjoy the surroundings to the fullest. They keep your skin breathing and are a must-have in any summer wardrobe. Go for items such as T-shirts that go well with any outfit.

Sunscreen

No matter where you’re going on vacation, sunscreen is a must. It’s essential to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays, especially during the summer months. Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 for optimal protection.

Apply it generously all over your body before going out in the sun and reapply it every few hours, especially if you’re sweating. When swimming, use a  water-resistant sunscreen to keep your skin protected.

A Pair Of Comfortable Shoes

You’ll be doing a lot of walking on vacation, so pack a comfortable pair of shoes. Go for shoes that are well-cushioned and provide support to your feet. Avoid shoes that are too tight or have high heels as they can cause blisters. Make sure you have a pair of shoes that can handle the heat.

Hats and Sunglasses

A hat is a great way to protect your face from the sun. It’ll keep you cool and comfortable while you’re out exploring. If you don’t like wearing hats, pack a pair of sunglasses to shield your eyes from the sun. Also, pack a sunglasses case to keep them from getting scratched.

Insect Repellent

Summer vacations usually mean spending time outdoors, even at night. You’ll, at some point, deal with pesky bugs. Be prepared by packing insect repellent to keep them at bay. Apply it before going outside and reapply it every few hours, especially if you’re sweating. Pack a travel-sized bottle, so you don’t have to lug around a big one.

A First-Aid Kit

You never know when you might need a band-aid or some antiseptic cream. Pack a small first-aid kit for any minor injuries. Include band-aids, antiseptic cream, pain relievers, and allergy medication. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is critical in the summer heat. Pack a reusable water bottle to keep with you at all times. Fill it up before you leave for the day, and drink plenty of water, especially if you’re sweating.

Swim Wear

Summer vacation is not complete without a trip to the beach or pool. Pack your swimwear so you can enjoy the water. Choose a suit that’s comfortable and flattering. If you’re going to the beach, remember a cover-up to wear when you’re not in the water.

A beach bag is essential for a summer vacation. It’ll come in handy for carrying your beach essentials such as sunscreen, insect repellent, hats, and towels. It’s also a great place to store your wet clothes after a dip in the pool or ocean. Choose a bag that’s big enough to fit everything you need but not so big that it’s cumbersome to carry.

Outline Your Itinerary First

Once you outline the itinerary, you can more easily decide what to pack for your trip. Consider the climate, activities, and location as well. Don’t forget to put some money aside for essential items you might forget to bring along. With some planning, you’ll enjoy a stress-free and fun-filled trip.
