With Atlanta being home of the world’s busiest airport where media relations, business negotiations, the World of Coke, The CNN center, The Georgia Aquarium and several other places in Atlanta all draw large crowds from many different parts of the world, it’s no wonder why it’s such a hub for that kind of activity.
Carla Stephens is on a mission to bring awareness to the growing issue of modern day slavery right here in Atlanta. She is doing so by joining forces and partnering with those who are in the position to help make a difference and want to use their platform and influence to impact change…celebrities!
Some of those in attendance included Dr. Jackie Walters (Bravo’s Married to Medicine), Shayzon Prince & Amber Bryant (Bravo Mother Funders),Dedra Allen (We tv ‘ Cuttin’ it in the A), Alexcius Branch (Philanthropist & State Farm Agent), Gwendolyn Moss(Selling it in the A) and guest Nina Bell of Southern Belle Entertainment, Simone Edwards (Former WNBA player/Seattle Storm), Kysha Cameron (Ryan Cameron Foundation), Lisa Chester (Executive Director at Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc), Shawn Smash Jet (Jay and Shay Show), Sheryl Merrit(Stewardship Manager for Wellspring Living).

Given their leadership, Carla invited these select celebrities and influencers to an intimate kick-off lunch to discuss this initiative with and discuss partnering as a Celebrity Host of a Celebs Against Human Trafficking Event; an awareness event that will take place monthly. These events give the celebrity/influencer and their circle of friends the opportunity to impact the lives of those that Wellspring Living serves through learning more, becoming inspired, determining ways to engage, and financially support Wellspring Living survivors. When an influencer hosts an event, they are supporting girls and women who have been trafficked and are at great risks who desire a community of support.
With their support and brand recognition attached to it, these events will be expecting to draw the attention of hundreds including parents, community groups, businesses, teachers and other members of the community.
Carla has also partnered with Kontrol Magazine as the Media Sponsor to help get the word out even further. they also expect local coverage from various media outlets that will also cover the events. As a Celebrity Host of the Celebs Against Human Trafficking event, those who participate will have a unique opportunity to generate goodwill with the community and to make positive impressions with fans, supporters and local media.
