They love being turtles, and you will too, after seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows (TMNT2)! Our favorite forte of mutant brothers are back and better than ever. Since the last film Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have become New York’s true protectors and superheroes, while their human ally, Falcon takes credit for defeating Shredder and The Foot Clan. Whereas Leonardo is complacent with sticking to the shadows and maintaining their secrecy, each of his brothers want more–and even yearn to be human.
Peace, however, is short lived as The Foot Clan frees Shredder from captivity, angering and embarrassing correction officer, Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) in the process. Shredder, tiring of the brothers’ interference, recruits two numb skull criminals, Bebop and Rocksteady, to become his errand boys and the muscle he needs to take down The Turtles. When unwittingly given the opportunity to take over the world by the alien warlord, Krang, he enlists the aide of scientist, Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) to recreate a machine that will bring the Technodrome to Earth, ending humanity! It is decision time for each of The Turtles as they must decide to step out of the shadows and save the world or live normal human lives.
This sequel was amazing TMNT2 is just the blockbuster Summer 2016 needs to start things off right. Seeing Krang, his mechanical body, and the Technodrome was truly a blast from my eighties childhood. Stephen Amell proves he can be just about any kind of vigilante and kick ass! Look out Arrow, Starling City’s resident hero might have found new stomping grounds.
Naturally, Megan Fox is extra hot as April O’Neil–and those schoolgirl outfits will make you gaga! However, recent animated and comic incarnations of her character show her as a martial artist as well. It would have been really nice to see her go toe to toe with Kirai. Just be sure you catch this amazing flick in theaters everywhere! RHOA’s Phaedra Parks and her little prince, Aidan definitely enjoyed it! Happy belated birthday Aidan!
