Every year, we wait anxiously to see what color The Pantone Color Institute will declare as the color of the year. This announcement is key because it signifies what will be trending in retail and media. More importantly, it provides insight into the state of the world.

Last year, Pantone chose “Greenery” as their core color for the year. Globally, we experienced a hyper-focus on wellness, more awareness on veganism and explored ways to be more environmentally conscious.

This even trickled into beauty as we began to investigate what ingredients are in our make-up and how our favorite products are made.

In 2018, Pantone elected Ultra Violet as the color of the year. Described as a blue-toned purple, Ultra Violet symbolizes creativity, ingenuity, and thoughtfulness. In short, we will be experiencing innovation in multiple capacities such as in tech, artistically or even spiritually.

Leatrice Wiseman, Executive Director of The Pantone Color Institute believes that “Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come.”

Immerse yourself in the imaginative spirit of Ultra Violet by updating your beauty bag with these 8 Ultra Violet inspired products:
