#CelebrityCrush- Janelle Monae

It’s really true when they say, “some girls got it, and some girls don’t!” Janelle Monae is definitely one of the girls–we mean women–that’s got it! The soulful, sultry, intelligent artist and fashionista has truly set the world on fire. Nowadays, female artists and celebrities in the industry feel pressured to show more skin, to be overly sexual. Now we understand that sex sells, but it cannot sell talent. Just think about how many pretty girls there are who try to use their looks to do just that. Thankfully, Janelle doesn’t ever have to “waste her pretty” as Demetria Lucas would say.

We first met Janelle back in the early 2000s when she was apart of Outkast’s, “Purple Label.”  To most she came out of nowhere, rocking classic hairstyles and female tuxedos–something most of us had never seen. Then, there’s how she always slayed the Red Carpet of every awards show she attended so effortlessly. Yup, Janelle Monae is a true trendsetter that turned us on to some serious fashion game! Now we get to see her in her first movie appearance as Mary Jackson in Hidden Figures one of three African-American women  who provided NASA with important mathematical data needed to launch the program’s first successful space missions! Check out the trailer below, and be sure you support the film!

Still, Janelle is gorgeous and super sexy! She is not big on showing skin, wanting to be a role model to young girls, but she still cannot hide those curves! Do you recall, the music video for Primetime with Miguel? Yes, Ms. Monae served BODY in that black white, form fitting dress. Whether she’s stomping the Red Carpet with Jidenna in tow, making movies, or making music Janelle Monae is truly a Cover Girl, queen, and worthy of being our Celebrity Crush!

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, whe it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -MIKEY
