What’s up guys got some cool news in fashion for you. Guess which Atlanta rapper is set to be a mentor on VFILES Runway this upcoming season, none other than Thugger Thugger himself, Young Thug. It was only yesterday when PUMA enlisted Young Thug to be the face of its latest campaign that features an array of vintage tracksuits. Now, the Atlanta-born rapper was chosen as one of five mentors for the forthcoming VFILES Runway Season 7. The hip boutique recruited Thugger because he “brings an incredible vision to the table,” VFILES founder Julie Anne Quay told Complex. Having added: “His approach to gender fluidity is a very powerful moment I think for fashion because it is connected to his approach to music and the message he shares through that medium.” Also, “his approach to our collaboration was very thoughtful and respectful of the work we reviewed together.”
The rapper alongside fashion industry experts Naomi Campbell, Mel Ottenberg, Pat McGrath, and Jerry Lorenzo will assist in mentoring models on the digital TV series. “We are incredibly excited to be consulting with Naomi, Pat, Jerry, Mel, and Jeffery as we prep for the seventh season of VFILES Runway,” Quay said. “Each has an incredible vision and are also not scared to take risks where moving fashion forward is concerned. Fashion today belongs to the risk takers and those who will push the boundaries of their ideas and how they are communicated.”
VFILES Season 7 is set to launch on September 7 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
