This weekend dancing with the stars and talk show host Amber Rose put on her second Annual SlutWalk in downtown LA. The walk brought out many women such as Hip-hop Rapper Trina, DJ Duffey, best friend Blac Chyna, and Former Playboy mate Kendra Wilkinson. There were also performances by Mariah Lynn and fun cameos by Joanne the Scammer. Amber Rose gave her story and heartfelt speech on why she started the walk in the US. The walk purpose is to stop sexual violence, victim-blaming, derogatory labels, and gender inequality.
There were thousands of people from all genders, sex, race, and age there. The walk started years ago to protest and call an end to rape culture. Amber Rose mission is to execute women empowerment her not-for-profit organization states from (amberroseslutwalk.com) “aims to promote discussion about women’s rights and equality issues. The foundation is specifically geared towards women empowerment and fighting against victim blaming.” The Amber Rose SlutWalk was a day festival filled with activities, giveaways, vendors, speakers, panelist, performances, live DJs, sign making, educational booths, photo fun, free breast cancer exams, and HIV testing.
Since the walk, a lot of men have voiced their opinion about the walk. Love and Hip-hop and owner of Hip Hop Weekly’s Benzino took to his IG and posted “Thank god my 19-year-old daughter doesn’t follow this garbage…Thank god she has parents to guide her from the BS…this s*** needs to stop smh.” Amber Rose gave a sassy reply by saying “one day someone will call ur daughter a slut, hoe, whore etc for no reason at all…please educate yourself on what the movement before you speak so ignorantly.” Benzino wasn’t the only father that made statements. Early morning show Breakfast Club Charlamagne tha god and DJ Envy also thought the walk wasn’t in good will. What are your thoughts?
