Ricky Bell, known as one of the founding members of New Edition, and Bell Biv Devoe, has found a musical ally on his neoteric single, ”Gold,” accompanied by his beautiful and talented wife, Amy Correa-Bell, of fourteen years.
Not only has Ricky Bell released his solo project, but he has also chosen to release two renditions of “Gold” from the upcoming duet EP with his wife, Amy.
The acoustic version serenades with sweet harmonizing vocals, intertwined with a melodic guitar, that administers alluring ear therapy. While the hypersonic, reggaeton, explosive sound, offers a perfect recipe with Latin and Caribbean ingredients, that make a tasty listening treat.
The track was produced and arranged by BOGZO, and written by the Bell duo, who decided to compose two variants of the symphonic piece.
The acoustic chorale tells a story of a love that won’t allow time, distance, or the trials of everyday life, to take away from what they have. In the moments when life seems to pull them in different paths, they find their way back to one another.
Bell admits his accountability crooning: ”All of these directions. And I’ve been far away from home. But I can’t forget my blessings. If there’s something, I don’t show. Have I told you that you are gold.”
While Amy reciprocates by singing: ”All of these directions and I’m learning as I go. I almost thought that I lost you. But the more I can see you grow. Have I told you that you are gold.”
In the chorus, they come conjointly in a mellifluous music union harmonizing: “Life moves swiftly. But when you’re with me, moments take over time. And the more moments we find shine in gold.”
The affirmation of their genuine, unconditional love for one another, is expressed by Bell and Correa-Bell. No matter the expanse between them, they’ll never be alone, because their love will always be present in each other’s heart.
In Gold’s remix version the same romanticism is extant, but it’s a love song to dance to with a fiery reggaeton rhythmic flow. With some Spanish excerpts infused saying, “Y Tu Corazon Es De Oro,” meaning, ”And your heart is of GOLD.”
The visuals, for this beautiful and emotional tune, was directed by the gifted actress Meagan Good, who is no stranger to the duo. Good, decided to give a dramatic, yet romantic, feel to the video, by setting the initial scene in the desert of California.
The couple has confirmed that all the on stream profits of their video will be donated to the impoverished, and people who were devastatingly impacted by the hurricanes and earthquakes in Mexico and Puerto Rico; by way of the nonprofit foundation, Direct Relief.
