Kontrol Magazine recently caught up with Brittany Passion to get up close and personal about life, love, and finding yourself in a world of dolls, dimes, and divas. Brittany also let us in on how to capitalize on your beauty and turn it in to a platform to help others.
“Jackie of All Trades”
Brittany who is originally from Dayton, Ohio relocated to Atlanta after obtaining several college degrees; to pursue a career in acting and modeling. Brittany recalls when she first started her modeling career, “it was interesting because I did not have head shots, I didn’t really know how to pose, or do anything the things that so called models could do”.
How does a beauty like this end up in several independent films and over 15 magazines including JET, as Beauty of the Week? “I started studying models that I would see. I looked at social media accounts, videos, photos and anything else that I could learn from. I would just practice my poses”. Practice makes perfect, or at least it gives you the passion to continue.
“My own family members didn’t initially approve of the kinds of photos that I was taking, they referred to it as ‘porn’. I can recall my cousins sharing my seductive type pictures with my grandmother once. I had to explain to them, this is what the family blessed me with and I’m going to use it”
You would look at this curvy model and think she has it all together, and she does, but don’t think that didn’t come without the common ups and downs. “I have done photo shoots and not received my pictures back, I have dealt with the creepy photographers”, Brittany shares. “My own family members didn’t initially approve of the kinds of photos that I was taking, they referred to it as ‘porn’. I can recall my cousins sharing my seductive type pictures with my grandmother once. I had to explain to them, this is what the family blessed me with and I’m going to use it”, says Brittany.
Brittany has turned all her lessons into preparing others for their journey in the beauty industry. The “Passion Xperience”, a business created by the curvy diva; is a model booking and event planning agency, that she hopes to expand in the near future. In addition to the business, five years ago she also started a pageant for juvenile delinquent and foster girls and wishes to take it statewide.
