Over the last few fashion seasons, the Parisian style house designers of Saint Laurent have been busy rebranding their label. With that being said, they’ve conceptualized couture fashion with a matching shopping experience. Saint Laurent has been opening boutiques across the world over the last few months and their newest store in Hong Kong boasts of marble flooring, mirrored shelving and suspended hangbars. While some may find the polarizing appearance of SL’s stores a bit ghastly, others with find joy in their “no shades of gray” approach to their interior design.
Saint Laurent‘s first concept store in Hong Kong opened its doors last week at Alexandra House, bringing Hedi Slimane‘s stark, rock ‘n’ roll-inspired aesthetic to a new Asian market. Following the opening of new Saint Laurent flagship boutiques in Paris and New York earlier this year, the 3,500 square foot store continues the development of Saint Laurent’s revamped identity while also remaining true to the house’s heritage. Sleek and monochromatic, the space includes both men’s and women’s collections, along with accessories, and was constructed from “noir soie” and “blanc statuaire” marble, board-formed concrete panels, mirrored shelving, suspended hangbars and quilted leather benches. One large video wall, meanwhile, provides the store with up-to-date imagery as well as a dose of cinematic flair. Those interested may visit the new location now at 20 Chater Road, Central.

Gotta love YSL but this seems like a real sterile experience … will a ghost be greeting patrons at the door with champagne and hor d vours? what are your thoughts?
