Atlanta has become the Mecca for TV and film, with so much African American flavor and talent it’s not hard to see why “Hotlanta” has been dubbed the new black Hollywood.
To be fair Atlanta has had a long concentration of well connected affluent blacks, but in recent years there seems to have been a mass migration to the peach state, which is now home to successful rappers, athletes and entertainment executives. However, not everyone is excited about this resurgence, try driving down I-85 in rush hour and you’ll quickly see why traffic here is anything but “peachy”.
However, for filmmakers Atlanta is industry gold, so it doesn’t look like people will be leaving any time soon. Producers, and directors are shying away from the saturated markets in Los Angeles and New York are capitalizing on the city’s southern charm.
Everything might be “bigger in Texas”, but Atlanta knows how to party!
Kontrol Magazines cover release party was no exception! The whole city came out to support RonReaco Lee, featured on the cover of Kontrol Homme and the cast of Survivor’s Remorse.
Everybody who is anybody was in the place!
From artist and musical talents like Trina Braxton, and Dj Fadelf. To celebrity moms like Sonja Norwood and former NFL players like Stevie Bags. It’s no surprise that some of TV and film’s biggest stars show up as well. Terri Vaughn from the Steve Harvey Show and Greenleaf, Isaiah John from FX’s Snowfall, Racquel John from TV’s movie Downsized, and Ashley Mills from Tyler Perry’s Too Close To Home were just a few of the A-list celebrities to attend the event.
With founder of Kontrol Mag, Julian Lark at the helm it’s no surprise that celebrity and guest stars slayed! Fans and industry elites definitely showed up and showed out!
If you’re new to the Starz hit show, I suggest you get familiar because one things for sure, Survior’s Remorse is here to stay!
Be sure to tune in on August 20th to catch the Season 4 premiere.
If you missed the star studded event here’s a few photos from the night.
