1. Tell us what this book is about?
My book, Wounds of Deception sheds light on a lot of taboo topics as well as issues that are inevitable. It covers family issues, sickness and death, and raises awareness on a rare disease called amyloidosis and it also deals with money issues and makes you think twice about who you can trust.
2. Why did you choose to write this book?
I chose to write this book because I lost my father in 2011 and after his funeral I had a lot that I wanted to get off of my chest. I felt that it was time to break the silence on a lot of things that were considered taboo. Family betrayal after the death of a loved one is something that is relevant and money issues that arise after someone dies. I will just say that I have talked to a lot of people who have dealth with a similar situation like the main character in the story. My father had amyloidosis and was unaware that he had it until he was hospitalized and died three months later. I am now a supporter of the Amyloidosis Foundation and have built a partnership with them to educate and raise awareness about the disease.
3. Tell us why your writing is unique?
My writing is unique for several reasons. For starters, I have not personally ran across a book on the market that covers the same topics that I cover. Last but not least, not only do I show the trials and tribulations that the main character Christie has to endure, but I also capture her triumph after her tribulations.
4. What can we look forward from you?
You can except and anticipate more novels that are different, that cover more than mundane themes and topics. I like to discuss things that are outside of what people deal with on an everyday basis. This is how you capture and engage your audience. For instance, in a book that deals with relationships it is okay to have a character who cheats on their spouse, a lot of people cheat, but why not add a twist to that. I am all about twists and creativity because I like to have my readers on the edge of their seat and every time they turn the page I want to keep them intrigued and hungry for more.
