1. Tell us what this book is about?
Body Snatchers 1 and Body Snatchers 2 are the name of my seriers. It is a suspense thriller about Haitian twin brothers, David and Jerry, (also known as Major and King) the masterminds behind the Body Snatchers organization. These two young men left Haiti on a mission of wealth but, not before burning a few bridges. While in the states, they joined together with four other men and formed the Body Snatchers organization. This group of Haitian men made a lucrative business from kidnapping influential people such as, the governor’s son, and holding them for ransom. But little did the twins know their past will come back to haunt them. The tables were quickly turned when one of the twins are kidnapped. Now the Body Snatchers will stop at nothing to rescue their commander’s brother. Including nearly shutting down the city of New York.
Body Snatchers 2 will take you deeper inside the Body Snatchers organization. You will become acquainted with the women of Pretty Posse, the female extension of the group. This crew of three women are a force to be reckoned with. They are left in the states while the Body Snatchers flee to Haiti. Pretty Posse are gung-ho on revenge, and are willing to go after the governor of New York for payback. You will be taken on an adventure through the countryside of Haiti and back onto the streets of Queens while both crews show why loyalty is not an option within this alliance.
I choose to write Body Snatchers 1 & 2 because I noticed there weren’t many crime/suspense novels or novels in general that mentioned or represented the Haitian culture. Since I am of Haitian decent, I decided to write a novel that would shine light on the Haitian culture and community.
I think my writing is unique because I incorporate the Haitian culture and the American culture within my storyline. I infuse both cultures giving the readers an inside look at both lifestyles. I introduce the readers to the different dialects, cuisine, and locations within Haiti and New York City. I make the scenes vivid enough that the readers could smell the aroma of the food, image a car flipping over in an intense car chase, or see someone being kidnapped from their home.
4. What can we look forward from you next?
Along with promoting my Body Snatchers series. I am currently working on my company, H4L Group. It is a multifaceted company that deals with publishing, marketing and connecting with the Haitian-American youth. My plans are to inform the young Haitian-American community of their rich history and find ways we can work together as a whole to get assistance to the people of Haiti.
