BUFFALO CITY CZAR is the story of a young Buffalo City boy that ascends to power and becomes megalomaniacal while a maverick federal team vows to stop him.
Get to know James:
2)Tell us about some of your favorite authors that inspired you?
Harold Robins, Sidney Sheldon, Iceberg Slim, and Donald Goines an others inspired me. Those were some of the first books that I began reading in prison. I was so fascinated by the stories that I read that I began reading all kinds of books. Tom Clancy, Eric Jerome Dickey, Annie Rice, and James Patterson. James Patterson was the author that had the most influence on my wanting to write. The way that he puts together a mystery plot had me up late nights wanting to know what happened next.
3) What is a typical day like for you?
(laughter) That’s funny, because if my readers actually knew what a typical day was like for me they would be surprised. However, after work each day, I come home and workout in my gym for 30 to 45 minutes. It relieves the stress from my job and puts my brain at ease. After taking care of my bodily grooming, I eat and pick up where I last left off with my writing. My mood depends on how much time I put into my work.
4) Does your novel Buffalo City Czar have any special connection to your real life or your past?
Absolutely, it’s very much connected to my past. I don’t want to get into details, but, although my novel is a book of fiction, I wrote it based on real life experiences.
5) Tell us your favorite character in Buffalo City Czar and why we should love or love to hate them?
My favorite character is Mike. You got to love him; a little tough man with a short man complex. Knowing his childhood you can’t help but to have sympathy for him. But then you fall in love with his swagger and begin to respect his gangster. When he begins to fall off, because of the death of his woman, it’ll make you want to see him get his shit together. Nevertheless, you would never expect for Mike to make the last move he makes.
6) What plans do you have for marketing and promoting yourself and your brand to readers?
I plan to market myself by any means necessary: internet, bookstores, libraries, book signings, radio.
7) Do you have any plans on publishing any other novels? If so, tell us a little about them.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I have several manuscripts that I plan to publish. God willing, my next novel is about the con game, a mystery/romance novel. Also, I have an erotica, a murder-mystery, and an uncensored autobiography about my life. I am 46-years-young and have experienced a side of life that the average 46-year-old would have never survived. I give all praises to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My life was spared in order for me to share my life with the world.
