She may be known for her many celeb spats, but lets not forget that Azealia Banks is not celeb blogger she’s an artist. He debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste offers up a step into the future while channeling the past. Her sound is a mixture of hip hop, dance, house, R&B, and everything else! She reminds us of how the 90’s was so carefree and fashion forward.
She’s dropped her video to, “Chasing Time” and its slowly garnering it’s deserved attention, but it doesn’t mean no one is paying attention.

It’s enough to make you wonder if Banks had planned her own demise and orchestrated this phoenix-like moment from the beginning. And as she talks about the future, one senses that she’s still one step ahead. “I am already somewhere else, artistically,” she says, having recorded new material while Broke With Expensive Taste collected dust. The delay in its release has, in fact, “been a bit of a blessing for me. I have more songs, more ideas.” And while she won’t say a word about the music she’s making now—her one piece of advice for young musicians: “Never tell them what you’re up to”—she will say that a tour is on the horizon for early next year, after a vacation with her sisters. “And I want to stop doing press,” she says. “Because you know me. I’ll say the wrong thing.” Actually, it’s just the opposite.
