You can never have enough floral. Don’t believe so? This year alone, floral has dominated as the number one trend that’s been adopted by the early fashion innovators. Snapchat did it first with the flower crown filter, yet Rodarte brings romance to the flower crown.
Rodarte’s Spring 2018 collection was everything baby’s breath.

The Spring collection was shown at Paris Couture Fashion Week in Paris’s Cloître Port Royal gardens. Blooming in Paris, sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy designed a collection utilizing their signature silhouettes, bright prints and floral elegance. Inspired by Robert Altman’s film, 3 women, this line is for the dreamer, artist, and intellectual.
There’s no such thing as too much baby’s breath with Rodarte. And, we aren’t talking about the clothing.
Bundles of fresh baby’s breath were snipped, pinned and wrapped with satin ribbons by hairstylist, Odile Gilbert. All 50 models had a different floral hair design. Many models’ hair had tiny bouquets of baby’s breath, full floral crowns, or floral shawls. “People say romantic is boring. But, every girl in the world wants to look like this. We need romance more now than ever”, Gilbert, told Vogue.
Designing with a romantic mind, multiple cuts of fabric are in the collection: sheer layers, fringe, ruffles, tulle, lace, chiffon, and a tough edge with leather. Within the collection are a pair of studded low-rise leather pants, crop tops, bow belts, and colors galore. The semi-sheer and sequined dresses add a touch of flirty. Yet, the yellow feather coat lit the stage.
These stunning flower crowns stole the show, as a fairytale interpretation of Spring.
