Earlier this week we got the chance to catch up with one of Bravo’s newest Reality TV stars, Africa Miranda. Originally born in Boston, hailing form Montgomery Alabama, the newly sweet Georgia Peach is quickly becoming a household name. Many may be familiar with the naturalist and her luxurious tresses from her blog Hairnista Chronicles, and Brand Ambassador work with ORS Hair Care, and Cream of Nature. Standing on the foundation that her hair is her ministry, Africa has taken great strides in the naturalist movement. She has been a featured guest on Good Day Atlanta on Fox, commentating on natural hair, as a result of her blog being ranked amongst the Top 50 Hair blogs. Believing that “Life is best lived with a fabulous head of hair”, She has taken her Hairnista hair movement to the next level by partnering with Wigdazzle. Inspired by the versatile looks she achieves with her own hair, Wigdazzle will allow its’ members to try a quality “look of the month” at an affordable price. You can achieve a long, short, curly or straight style in a myriad number of ways.
Of all her most recent endeavors, and work related ventures Africa was most excited to talk about her work with one of her latest projects, “Be a Girlfriend”. Coming to a city near you, “Be a Girlfriend” is an after school mentoring program for young girls. Africa is dedicated to teaching young girls the difference between television and reality. When speaking on the program and a group of young women she recently spoke with she said, “Girls don’t know how to be good friends to one another. I want young women to understand the difference between what they see on TV and reality”. We couldn’t agree more! With all the “reality” drama everyone is eating up, it is rare to see healthy friendships between women in the media. Africa plans to take “Be a Girlfriend” around the country, educating young women on friendship, conflict resolution, and self-worth.
Among these amazing works Africa has also snagged herself some large national Campaigns. Appearing in a Coca-Cola Ad, as well as doing Voice Over for Verizon and Samsung. The Singer, Model, Actress and “Socialnista” truly does it all. There’s only one thing missing in this total package of a woman’s’ life, a MAN! Being blessed with such great opportunities has had Ms. Miranda living the jet setter life. Get the rest of the story when you pick up the new issue of Kontrol on stands now.
