Burberry Menswear Winter Looks

Burberry Autumn/Winter 2015 Menswear Collection

For over 150 years, Burberry has been one of the most known and celebrated fashion houses in the world. Based out of London, the brand has had major success, especially in Autumn/Winter since it’s unusual for the city to reach about 75 degrees and its median annual temperature is 63 degrees annual. This gives them a lot of opportunities to nail Winter fashion.

A lot of the things that we love from Burberry include their outerwear, trousers, accessories, and knit tops. Being that they’ve been around for so long the brand has managed to maintain its reputation as an international luxury brand, giving the people of the world British perspective on fashion.

We’re going to dive into some of the Winter looks and items that everyone loves about Burberry. For men, these would be items that they can incorporate into their everyday Winter wardrobe. Hopefully, if you’re not a fan, you’ll learn that you should be.

On the Runway

Last year’s Autumn/Winter collection focused heavily on outerwear, with a little appreciation for other items. Like most fashion house, Burberry has decided to present both menswear and women’s at the same time. This not only eliminates the stress of creating two separate collections and preparing for two shows but also cuts out a lot of costs in the process. A lot of fashion designers have chosen this route, which has made September an even bigger month for fashion.

Their most recent Winter collection also was an homage to their classic check print. Though a lot of designers use check print, Burberry is known for lining their coats with the pattern and showing it off on shirts, sweaters, trousers, and scarves.
In comparison, past collections could be considered more creative. They played with darker colors and unique prints that were still true to the sophistication and classic look of the Burberry brand.

The Burberry Trench

The Burberry trench is known as a staple in the fashion world. It’s the equivalent to Coco Chanel’s little black dress. Though over the years Burberry has rolled out many different style and prints for their trench coat, they are still careful to make sure that they stick close to the original structure and design that made it popular.

These coats can be worn in any season, on any day, and anytime. However, they are the perfect item for Winter. No matter what you put on underneath, the trench coat will always stand out on its own. Especially, when they feature their classic check print.

Fits

So what, when, where, and wear? Those are probably the questions that you guys may have. The answer to “What?”, is simple. In the Winter, you need to get any and every sweater, trousers, and maybe one trench coat that can be worn every day. Burberry also makes some great button-downs. “When?”, of course we’re talking winter here, however, a lot of the stuff that Burberry produces can be worn year round if you know how to style it right. The same answer can be used for “Where?”

Now the good stuff, the “Wear?” In Winter, you’ll be wearing button-downs with sweaters over them and trouser. You can also show off their more stylish trousers, like the ones that have a unique check pattern, by having a solid sweater and some nice shoes. The brand also has very nice suits. Anyone of them can be used for casual or professional situations. Simply find a nice shirt and optional tie, and venture out with your signature trench coat.

In all, you can walk into a Burberry store blindfolded and still pick out some great pieces for Winter. It’s just the go-to brands when it comes to these kinds of things. Mix and match at your leisure. That’s another thing that’s great about Burberry, their designs fit with one another like a different puzzle piece that still connects. So pick up a couple pieces and get to work.
