How To Cook Like a Chef
Kontrol Magazine had the opportunity to experience the cooking class of personal celebrity chef and Caribbean restaurant owner, Robert Gayle, at his Atlanta restaurant, Chef Rob’s Upscale Lounge. Chef Rob, combines his Caribbean background with his Culinary Institute of America education, to bring out the great and enjoyable flavors in his many Caribbean dishes.
During Chef Rob’s cooking class he demonstrates some of his techniques, such a preparing, cutting, seasoning, and cooking meats and vegetables. Chef Rob showed us a step by step guide of how to make his Caribbean Seafood Dip, Chef Rob’s jerk seasoning, and (my favorite) Braised Beef Oxtails with Rice & Peas. We were given the opportunity to take notes, help prepare, taste, and eat the tasty appetizer and entree!
Chef Rob not only left our stomachs full and satisfied, but also left us with knowledge of new techniques and recipes that we can try with our family and friends at home.
