After the jail time, court dates, break ups, and excessive drama Chris Brown has officially released his highly anticipated album, X. The 21 track deluxe album gives fans signature Chris and is surely on its way to land a top of the charts. His pioneering in new age Pop and R&B should be applauded. Merging both pop and R&B may be the “thing” to do in current music, but it looks as though this is lane Chris seems most comfortable. The sexually driven lyrics add to his maturity in taste and what every 25-year-old young man has on his mind. Surprisingly, fellow crooner like Usher and Trey Songz are featured on his most recent effort. Once again Trey Songz shares the essence of R. Kelly on titled track “Songs On 12 Play”.
Vocally Brown doesn’t disappoint pouring his everything in between he melody. Later the voice of R. Kelly does surface and laces with sexuality all over “Drown In It”. If anyone had doubts thinking that Chris was going to drop the ball with this one. Can we say, “think again.” Features are the pleasant surprises on the latest album. With amount of talent its clear that they aren’t needed, but they all add an organic creativity to the entire body of work.
Chris is officially taking no prisoners with this one for sure.
The visuals that will be paired alongside this album will have #teambreezy for sure on the edge of their seats to see all he’ll be coming up with. This era for Chris marks his sixth studio album pushing forward with sexually driven content marking his profound evolution.
He stated to Ebony Magazine:
It’s the Roman numeral for 10. 5/5/89 is my birthday: 5 plus 5 is 10, and this is my tenth year since I got into music. ‘X’ is the 24th letter in the alphabet, and I will turn 24 when this album comes out. ‘X’ is also a metaphor, as in ‘ex-girlfriend’: it implies you’re progressing and moving on in life, not holding on to the past and your old ways.
