Lucky for the masses, Asheya Dixon is releasing her natural skincare line CoCo Kisses, the first collection from the BRWN Beauty brand. Dixon spoke with Kontrol about her new skincare line that will help you and your skin stay healthy and happy.
WHO IS ASHEYA DIXON?
Asheya Dixon is a proud mother, wife, Army veteran and entrepreneur. She is clearly no stranger to hard work and dedication. Prior to her skincare venture, Dixon completed her degree in business, successfully tackled real estate and another business dealing in beauty that helps customers maintain their weight.
As life changes, we should too and that is just Dixon had to do. Her husband is in the military and was stationed in Arizona. Upon the family’s arrival there, she noticed that her skin was always dry. Suddenly, her go-to product that was good in Georgia’s humid summers was no match for the dry heat of Arizona. After searching for products that could save her skin from drying out to no avail, she was on a mission to make sure that she and her family had moisturized skin that could withstand temperatures that could reach over 100 degrees.
Sadly, none of the products on the store shelves could keep her skin from getting ashy. It was a reminder, the beauty industry sill ignores the needs of women of color. On top of that, the ingredient lists were filled with too many chemicals harmful to her skin with prolonged use. At that point, she knew something needed to be done. Thus the BRWN Beauty skincare line was born.

BRWN Beauty is a company by Asheya Dixon and her business partner to represent herself and other brown girls around the world. The first line under BRWN Beauty is Coco Kisses. Inspired by her mother’s love of cocoa butter, Coco Kisses is a line made of natural products to nurture the skin. As a person being natural, Dixon knew that she did not want to have toxic ingredients in her products. The main reason is because it can be harmful to the body, plus it would not be beneficial to helping with her eczema.
During the creation of BRWN Beauty, Dixon wanted to make sure the formula for the products felt good, smelled good and able to moisturize the skin in the process. Everything done in the creation of CoCo Kisses is done with love and the well-being of the consumer in mind. The healthy mix of butters and other moisturizing ingredients are all easy to read on the labels of the items for CoCo Kisses. In the initial launch, there is a sugar scrub, a body wash and a moisturizing body lotion. Customers love the lotion and the scrub.
