Comedienne Melissa McCarthy is back! This time around she’s hilariously paired with Academy Award wining actress, Susan Sarandon! In McCarthy’s last film she is “Tammy,” a woman who is down on her luck and having the worst day in existence! The happenings of this aforementioned “day,” include her car being totaled, losing her job, and then coming home to find her husband getting “friendly” with their neighbor! So what is a girl suppose to do when she needs to escape her dreary life, but just so happens to be penniless and immobile? The solution is simple–let grandma ride shotgun for cash and her car and head to Nigara Falls! Along the way, the two get into some serious trouble. Susan plays her “world weary” mother, “Deb,” and naturally is nothing short of hilarious in her own right.
The trailer for this movie makes it seems like it will be 2014’s answer to “Hangover!” I especially loved seeing Tammy dance in the “Topperjacks’s” parking lot drunk and with a brown paper bag on her head! Melissa McCarthy is the funniest comedienne out right now it is definitely refreshing to see her headlining a film she also co-wrote and produced. It looks like this funny lady is flexing her film making muscles! “Tammy” will definitely be some much needed comedic relief with all the action packed blockbusters routinely delivered during the summer season.
