Most Common Mistakes Made When Filling In Your Eyebrows

They say, never let someone with bad eyebrows give you advice about life. Now of course this is a joke but seriously, there are too many women out there that are guilty of filling in their eyebrows incorrectly. Eyebrows are the focal point of your face, therefore it’s imperative that the correct techniques are used to achieve the perfect brow.

Here are some common mistakes that are made…..

draw one

Don’t draw harsh lines

Do not draw on your eyebrows!!! I repeat, do not draw on your eyebrows!!! Drawing lines onto your face is way too harsh on the face and can make you look cartoon like. Begin with light strokes at the bottom of the eyebrow. You can then outline the top of your brow or begin filling in the sparse areas of the brows. You don’t have to use an eyebrow pencil, you can use an eyeshadow or a tinted brow gel. I personally prefer pencils as they are easier to control.

too dark

Don’t fill your eyebrows in too dark

Your brow color should be one or two shades lighter than your hair color. Sometimes you have to mix two colors to achieve the natural shade of your brow. Don’t ever fill your brow in with black as it’s extremely too dark and heavy for the face. Remember, if the color of your eyebrows are the same as your hair, they’re too dark. The color of your brows should always compliment your hair color and complexion.

too boxy

Don’t forget to blend them out

The key to any successful makeup look is to make sure that everything is blended together, your eyebrows are no exception. Make sure you brush the excess brow product out with an eye comb or spoolie. Try to avoid boxy brows at all costs as the goal is to have soft and natural looking eyebrows.
