Entrepreneurship is about stepping out on faith. Milani did exactly that when she constructed her hair business – iHair Candy.
There has been a huge increase amongst blacks in entrepreneurship. The hair industry is a very competitive business both in hairstyling and the supplying of hair. Social media has increased the number of hair companies in the black community. How can one fit in such a competitive market – one young woman found a way and solidified her spot amongst the rest.
A Young Entrepreneur
Milani Taylos, a Cleveland, Ohio native, is the owner of iHair Candy. With four physical store locations, her introduction into the hair business was organic. Milani’s first whiff of entrepreneurship came in the form of operating a clothing store. Wanting something different, Milani decided to shift gears at the age of 18 and open up her first salon. That one decision led to the opening of three other salons in a one to two years time frame.

Opportunities Are Endless
3 stores weren’t enough for Milani as she focused on opening up a new location in Atlanta, GA. When she thought her brand couldn’t expand any further – she gets an opportunity to work with music mogul Rick Ross. Milani became an exclusive retailer for “Rich Hair Care” which carries products for both men and women. It doesn’t stop there, iHair Candy hair collection has been seen in VH1 shows such as “Love & Hip-Hop & Black Ink Crew.”

The Sky Is The Limit
2018 is a new year and it is currently bringing new opportunities for Milani Taylos’s personal brand as well as iHair Candy. She is currently working as a brand ambassador for such retail outlets as Fashion Nova, House of Heels Miami and many more. IHair Candy will be contracted for another season of VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop & Black Ink Crew. Milani is definitely a person of interest for 2018 in the hair industry.
