Being able to express yourself through nail art has been trendy for a couple of years now, with Fall 2014 solidifying it as more than a trend, but as a staple in fashion and beauty. It has become the outfit topper and accessory must-have with tastemakers across the world including celebrities, models, and bloggers alike being photographed out and about with the highlight of their ensemble being their nails. It has even garnered its own TV show this Fall on Oxygen called Nail’d It. A competition reality show that has up-and-coming nail artists compete with one another creating unique and artsy designs for $100,000! The show will premier tonight on Oxygen at 9pm ET/PT.

The reason why nail art is trending and everywhere including TV nowadays is because it is easy to incorporate. It can be inexpensive or expensive depending on your tastes. If you are a DIYer you can use nail strips and nail art kits from nail polish powerhouses such as Sally Hansen or Essie for relatively cheap and found at your local drugstore or Target as pictured above. If you fancy more detail and more flare then heading to your local nail shop may be your thing. It’s truly up to you!
Some of my favorite nail art trends incorporate studs and matte polish for rocker-chic looks. I am also a fan of stiletto and almond shaped nails with nude polish for a subtle edgy flare. I could go on and on about my favorites and that is the point…nail art has range and if you want to show some personality without changing your wardrobe, this is a simple and easy way to do it!
