After three and half months of dating and now almost 15 years of marriage, love and friendship has gotten these two where they are today. Creator and actor from UPN’s the hit series “One on One,” Flex Alexander and Grammy nominated singer, Shanice are a real representation of true love. The rather private couple has buried their hardships up until now. This fall the Hollywood stars will welcome the OWN Network into both their lives and home in a docu-series properly titled, “Flex & Shanice.” They are taking the opportunity to tell the truth of their financial highs and lows, as a celebrity couple which is something ground breaking and astounding to witness. While living in a rental home with a head count of nine people total, including Shanice’s outspoken mother makes for great television. By showcasing a celebrity lifestyle that is rarely seen this starlet and songstress will share their journey in hopes of helping others.
The couple said, “We want to help. We hope things change not only for us, but for people who watch it. Families that are going through it will have hope and say they feel inspired. “
In their new reality special, “Flex and Shanice,” the two allowed cameras to capture their journey to get back on track, beginning with Flex revealing exactly what his family has been through.
In the above video, Flex meets his friend of 15 years Kym Whitley for lunch to discuss how he can get back into stand-up comedy, which he has done and enjoyed in the past. After the two talk about his comedic approach, Flex lets Kym in on the secret he’s been keeping.
“Kym, you don’t know what we’ve gone through. We haven’t shared it with a lot of people,” Flex begins. “We’ve gone through a lot. We’ve gone through ups, we’ve gone through downs. I’ve had that 4 o’clock banging at the door, they’re coming to get the car…”
