Meet actor, model, writer, philanthropist and the 2017 Mr USA winner, Timothy Richardson. He grew up in Orlando, Florida and at a young age, Timothy lost his father. As a result of the loss of his father, Timothy learned quickly how to be the man of the house.
The youngest of his mother’s 2 children, Timothy’s sister was 10 years his elder. Because of the 10 year age gap between him and his sister and his mother’s busy work schedule. Timothy would spend a lot of time home alone. During his time alone Timothy discovered his calling as an actor, he produced stage play productions in his living room for his audience of imagery friends. His admiration for his mother, coupled with some trials he faced being raised by a single parent, inspired him to start his non-profit organization “Ties for Change.”
Ties for Change
Timothy started the non-profit organization “Ties for Change,” because some of the challenges he faced as a young boy. While attending his 5th-grade graduation, Timothy watched all of the others sons preparing to walk across the stage. Watching the other students get ready for graduation their fathers were present to assist them with tying their ties. His mothers work load did not allow for her to be able to attend his graduation. The next day Timothy rode his bike 10 miles to the nearest Men’s Warehouse. Upon arrival, Timothy asked one of the sales associates if they could teach him how to tie a tie. Timothy started the organization to assist with the progression of helping young African American males professionally.
Running for Mr USA
Timothy was crowned in 2017 as Mr USA winner. The contest is similar to the Ms USA contest with a talent, formal wear, swimwear and fitness component. While the pageant was competitive, Timothy recalls warm memories from his experience.
Current Projects
Timothy is working on a film “House of Invictus” that will premiere at film festivals across the U.S. He is also working on a TV project called “Cooking up a Storm Pilot.” However he was most excited about his role in the play the “Hidden Truth of Black Wall Street.”
Getting Personal
While Timothy is attractive, he’s also is an eligible bachelor. Ladies if you are looking for some tips and ways to catch his attention. Timothy’s bucket lists includes: wanting to go skydiving, meeting Barack Obama & attending a jam session with Earth, Wind and Fire. What you need to know about his personality; he’s determined, charismatic, optimistic and has an extensive vocabulary. Lastly, because of the great example set by his mother, Timothy admires women. He feels they don’t get the credit they deserve, women are super heroes. Apart of his mission is gender equality and he works as an activist on behalf on women to advance their position.
