Are you a brunette? Are you jealous of all your blonde-haired friends with pastel-colored tips? If you answered, “yes” to both of those questions, then I have a little surprise for you. There is a new hair-coloring trend that is only for dark-colored haired girls. The technique is called “oil-slicking” due to the iridescent appearance of your hair after it has been colored.
The coloring technique was developed by Aura Friedman, who was inspired by puddles of gasoline and oil in the rain.
Friedman told Popsugar, “I’ve been trying to recreate gasoline or oil when it’s on the ground and it rains. I find that when you take a dark purple and a dark green and layer them one on top of the other, you end up with this iridescent feeling.”
Then all of these colors are processed with a dark brown or black shiny base color. See…now as a brunette you can rock rainbow-colored hair without having to go through the harsh process of bleaching your hair. Another added benefit is that this coloring last-long as it doesn’t need constant retouches, which helps to keep your hair healthier. I say that oil slick coloring is definitely a hair trend to try.
