When fans woke up to a new K.Dot album it left them extremely happy and wondering if the Compton rapper was pulling a ‘Beyoncé’. For the past couple of months Kendrick Lamar had been real lowkey on when fans could expect his sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly, but apparently yesterday’s release was actually yesterday’s leak.
According to NecoleBitchie.com, someone at Kendrick’s label, Interscope, allegedly leaked the album which was scheduled to drop March 24. The album accidentally found its way to iTunes and after that it was a free for all for fans – who were still up, it’s back on pre-order now. Anthony Tiffith, founder and CEO of TDE, cleared up whether the release was intentional or an accident when he took to Twitter to vent his frustrations with Interscope for leaking the album:
Although the album was released prematurely Kendrick didn’t seem too bothered but that could be because his album dropped the day before the 20th anniversary of his favorite album, Me Against The World by Tupac. Before sending out the link to pre-order the album, he tweeted:
