Packing for college can be stressful and overwhelming; how are you going to pack your life into a few suitcases? Even though you’re tempted to pack everything and have convinced yourself you need it all, trust me, you don’t. From my own personal experience and poll here are a few “essentials” every college student will need.
1. Your favorite hoodie: Probably one of your favorite articles of clothing period. Whether you’re rushing out of your room or preparing for a late night food run, your hoodie is your best friend.
2. Sweatpants: Who doesn’t love convenience? Sweatpants serve many purposes; you can work out in sweatpants (gotta keep that freshman 15 off), wear them for a study session, show off your school spirit, or simply lounge around all day.
3. Shorts: These should be at the top of your list for move-in day. There’ll be some days where it’s so hot it’s unbearable and the last thing you need is to be covered in fabric. Like sweatpants, they’re convenient and versatile in use.
4. Business Attire: You’re bound to have at least one group project that requires you to dress up for the presentation. Also you may have an interview or need to make an awesome first impression; business attire, as uncomfortable as it can be at times, does come in handy.
This list isn’t the final say so on what you should and shouldn’t pack. It’s just to give you an idea of what to pack. If you’re entering college for the first time or returning I wish you all the best. May the packing force be with you.
