Despite all the rumors about an alleged engagement to Chris Brown, Karrueche Tran is still being noted as the ‘side chick’.

Recently VH1 posted a promo for an article  over “Notorious Side Chicks.” In the promo VH1 used Lil’ Kim, Joseline Hernandez, and Tran as representation for the article.

Tran had enough of the labeling and name calling and went to Instagram to address the issue.

She posted this picture :

Then she wrote, “when no one understands you they misinterpret you… They judge you.. They label you.”

“This is embarrassing to see, but I can do nothing but laugh, she continued. Because at the end of the day you can say whatever you want about me … Label me however you please .. Your words don’t define who I am .”

Karreuche Tran began dating pop star Chris Brown back in 2011, after the infamous split between him and former girlfriend Rihanna. Tran and Brown have had an off and off relationship ever since. Tran has even been caught up in a love triangle with him and Rihanna, when it was rumored that Brown would constantly go back in forth between the two. Being in the amidst of this has caused Tran to be labeled as “Chris’s side chick.”

Even though VH1 isn’t the first to call Tran those names, she decided to speak on this because she says she has family that has to see this .

Tran disagrees with the label and claims that she “doesn’t even think that we [VH1 and others] are on the same page on what a side chick is.”

It’s good to see Tran finally sticking up for herself. I feel like she has been silent for too long. But what do you all think? Do you guys think Tran is a “side chick” Or just a girl that it caught in love triangle? and what exactly is a “side chick”?
