Art has always been an outlet for the common man. Some of the greatest forms of human expression have elegantly been placed to paper with a few strokes of the pen and paint brush. Surprisingly, one company has become knows this better than most. You would be more surprised to learn that company is none other than Mountain Dew! That’s right one of your favorite soft drink companies has become a lot more hip! Mountain Dew is opening its first ever crowd sourced gallery called “The Green Label Gallery!”
The Green Label Gallery will not be your run of the mill exhibit. In it you will see digital artwork from all over the world contributed from Instagram with the label, “#GreenLabelGallery.” Some of the pieces seem to be centered around the Mountain Dew label and its original lime flavored drink. Still many more are abstract pieces of eveything from egg shell chickens to spider-shaped bush sculptures. There were over a thousand global submissions for the first ever Green Label Gallery in Amsterdam. There, the event was hosted by the Chaotic Bastards. This time around designer, illustrator, and typographer; Kevin Lyons will be curating the event. Kevin is the the founder and sole creative director of “Natural Born” and is internationally known for his shows, and dealings with clients like Nike, Converse, Google TV, Umbro, and Stacks. With someone of his caliber headlining the gallery it will be nothing short of amazing!

The gallery will be officially in operation on September 20th and 21st during Dew Tour Brooklyn at the House of Vans. Anyone who will be in the Brooklyn area should definitely check out this momentous event. This will be the chance of a lifetime to see some of the most unique pieces on the planet, that coincidentally are based off Mountain Dew. Besides a gallery and Kevin Lyons wrapped up together will be nothing short of a feast for your eyes! Who knew a drink could be so artsy!
