Louis Vuitton menswear designer Kim Jones takes an all-new and innovative approach to his spring/summer collection. His collection boasted a huge range of trench coats, raincoats, bombers and more to showcase. But aside from the functional gear, Jones has also designed pieces for those who dare to be a little adventurous with their apparel. Threads from the luxury collection were heavily printed both with bold stripes and graphics, and certain pieces were monogrammed with Louis Vuitton’s signature word mark. Also another interesting thing was the choice of footwear, from roped sandals to platform brogues, while Jones himself wore a pair of Nike Lab sneakers of his own design to end the show. With a late 70’s early retro 80’s type of vibe th
roughout the collection and styling, Jones is definitely making his mark within the LV family with this one. Also for those who aren’t familiar with this amazingly gifted designer here’s a brief bio on him. A graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London, Kim Jones was in a sense destined to make an impact in the world of fashion. Even before officially finishing school John Galliano, giving him the necessary funds to launch his namesake label the following year, bought almost half of his 2001 graduate collection. The British designer’s work with the likes of retail giants Uniqlo and Topman, and luxury brands Mulberry, McQ by Alexander McQueen, and Dunhill to name a few, helped propel him to the position of Style Director for French fashion house Louis Vuitton, arguably the pinnacle of contemporary menswear.
