Dark. Edgy. Luxury. Hip-hop star Nas has partnered with online street style brand Grungy Gentleman to take his first steps into the world of fashion. The two forces came together to create an upscale streetwear line called HSTRY, which is set to drop this fall. Marked by a clear hip-hop influence and matched with “a hint of stylish menace,” the premier collection is reportedly composed of 33 pieces, including bomber jackets, flannel pieces, leather caps, and more. I’m not typically impressed with [hip-hop meets fashion] collaborations, but the lookbook images released are promising. HSTRY’s price points range from $85 to $1,800, suggesting that it’ll be pushed towards a higher income market. Hopefully most of the line will fall in the lower half of that range. HSTRY will be released in the coming weeks via Grungy Gentleman’s new online store. Nas and GG are already working on a spring line, but they have plans to extend the brand into non-fashion categories as well. I’m excited to see what’s coming in the future. For now, check out a preview from their Fall 2013 lookbook below.
