lIs it hard to find a foundation shade that matches your skin tone? Well, you’re not the only one! Finding foundations that match deeper skin tones is not the easiest job. If you go to your local drug stores such as Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and etc.. there are very few brands that provide a wide-range of shades for WOC. It seems like most companies stop at the shades, soft-sable or Carmel. However, when they do have a shade its completely red in which they fail to understand WOC skin have different undertones. It’s simple! Women of color shades shouldn’t be one-color-fits-all!

With the high demand of makeup and ever evolving internet. Beauty is highly searched and multi-billion dollar makeup brands are in high demand. The makeup industry is completely diverse but yet and still some beauty brands are catered to the typical European beauty standard. Some companies have taken a couple of notes from statistics. TABS GROUP, did a U.S Cosmetics study in 2015, they found out the top four mainstream brands are Maybelline, CoverGirl, Revlon and L’Oréal. These same brands have color ranges for EVERY girl. So they understand the struggle.

CoverGirl also took some notes and has led campaigns with Zendaya, Janelle Monae and Queen Latifah. In fact, the queen collection is targeted as “Makeup for Darkskin.” It’s a brand that stand alongside other WOC lines like Iman, Black Opal and Black Radiance. Beyonce led the L’Oréal True Match campaign for years. True Match is another great product that’s offered in over 33 shades.
