Life has been really good for Mrs. LeToya Luckett-Walker. The Texas songstress has been all around the world blessing the masses with her God given talents. Today, she is here to talk with Kontrol Magazine about love and life.
Music For Our Ears
Her highly anticipated third album, Back 2 Life, was released in May 2017. This body of work is more personal and just as magnificent the previous albums LeToya (2006) and Lady Love (2009). She will be coming with new music, but you will have to wait for things to be just right. Good things take time. LeToya does not intend to rush the creative process of making quality music.
Acting Up
LeToya is no stranger to the camera’s lens. From the movies (Preacher’s Kid and Note To Self) to countless television series roles (Treme, Single Ladies, Rosewood, Greenleaf) she has been working at the craft of acting. Currently, she can be seen in Set It Off, the stageplay by Je’Caryous Johnson. The character she portrays is Frankie, which was played by Vivica A. Fox in the motion picture release. The stage play also features Kyla Pratt, DaBrat and Demetria McKinney. The fans of the classic movie will love the play equally.
Dark and Lovely
Recently, Luckett became the brand ambassador for the legendary brand Dark and Lovely. Everyone has heard of the iconic brand, so it only made since to have someone equally iconic. During her honeymoon, while wrapping up some business, she received notice that Dark and Lovely wanted to partner. The brand has been in her life for a very long time because her grandfather still owns a salon and uses Dark and Lovely products.
By now, you should be acclimated to seeing LeToya with short hair. Kontrol was one of the first publications to showcase the fresh cut. When asked if she recalled that moment, LeToya recalls the events leading up to the refreshing cut. During her birthday brunch, her friends Monica and Eudoxie over heard her questioning out loud if she could wear short hair. From there, they started playing with her hair and trying to create mock styles so she could see how it would look. The next day, she was able to meet with Larry J. Sims and get her hair cut. Her short hair is a great way to showcase her new color from Dark and Lovely called Sun Kissed Brown.
Married Life
Many people dream of finding love. A lot of frogs get kissed in the process of the journey to love, but LeToya has found her prince charming. In December of 2017, Letoya Luckett and Tommicus Walker tied the knot in Texas. LeToya stated that she wanted to keep her relationship private for as long as she could. The world found out about her engagement via social media. She was actually planned the surprise birthday party for him when he asked for her hand in marriage.
The wedding was a celebration of love. Everything was beautiful. The wedding video is currently online. Many people came to witness the union and Tank even sang as LeToya walked down the aisle. Some of their earlier moments together can be seen on OWN’s The Book of John Gray.
In this new chapter in her life, LeToya is also a step-mother. It’s a role that she takes very seriously and is happy to have. She always let’s Maddison, her step-daughter, know that she is loved by so many people in her life.
