Kushae is a gentle, all-natural line of non-toxic women’s hygiene products that address various areas of personal care such as pregnancy and post-partum skincare, fitness and sexual activity. Kushae was birthed from the collaborative work of Co-Founders Kimba Williams and OB/GYN Dr. Barbara McLaren (Dr. Barb). Kushae’s mission since being founded has been to create an innovative and safe means of addressing the various areas personal care for women.
Grammy winning, R&B veteran LeToya Luckett was recently named as Kushae’s brand ambassador.
Kimba and LeToya met with Kontrol magazine, sharing the story on Kushae’s development and what sets it apart from all other products that claim to be natural.
“One of the things that drew me to Kushae was that it’s made by Black women,” LeToya said. Yes, it’s a product that’s for everyone but it feels good knowing that there is a product that was made by someone that understands certain things about you.”
Kushae is formulated by board certified OB-GYN Dr. Barbara McLaren and uses all-natural non-toxic ingredients that gently cleanse the body while also nourishing the skin.
“Its really important to know what you’re putting in your body. I don’t like the idea of not fully knowing what I’m putting in or on my skin. Kushae’s products are 100% natural and gentle on the skin,” LeToya added.
The idea for Kushae was created by two ladies from different but ironically similar paths. Kimba is a former pharmaceutical sales representative and Dr. Barb is a board-certified OB/GYN and breast cancer survivor.
“Dr. Barb and I’d met on a girl’s-trip and things moved from there. I was tired of working in the sickness business,” Kimba said. “Her (Dr. Barb’s) medical training didn’t prepare her for what she would go through in her experience with breast cancer. She and I wanted to offer innovative solutions for various personal women’s issues and everyday feminine health and hygiene challenges. What makes me so enthusiastic about Kushae is that it’s 100% natural. Everything in Kushae’s products can be found in your kitchen or garden,” Kimba said beaming. “There’s no regulating or governing body on what can be considered natural. A lot of people say that their product is natural and a lot of that is fluff. You can put dirt and water in a bottle and call it natural,” Kimba laughed.
“We follow European medical standards. There are at least 1,300 chemical ingredients that they’ve banned use of in everyday products that the FDA hasn’t. We’re a true authority here. No other product is OB/GYN developed. Dr. Barb would never jeopardize her reputation by making claims on a product that she doesn’t believe in. We consult with chemists and certified professionals to develop this product. Kushae works to create a better product for the sake of better health.”
