Looks like this year’s Soul Train Awards will be taking us back to the 90s as Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, and Da Brat hit the stage to perform their 1997 hit single “Not Tonight (Remix).” The ladies anthem, which also included Angie Martinez and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, reached platinum success and hit No. 6 on the Billboard chart.
On Monday BET and Centric announced that the trio will pay tribute to the original 1979 “Ladies Night” track that they sampled from funk icons Kool & the Gang, who will also be honored with the Legends Award for their outstanding achievements and contributions to soul music.
Other notable performances will include Chris Brown, Jodeci, Tank, Tamar Braxton, and many more, so this is definitely not a show that you want to miss! Check to see if your favorite artists were nominated here.
