The once historic church turned venue we know in Atlanta as the Tabernacle housed as many people as a mega church service last week. As part of the 50/50/1 tour sponsored by Bud Light, the night belonged to Ludacris. Fans were filled with excitement-as if they had just won the Power Ball. There’s nothing like seeing an artist perform in the city where they turned their dreams into reality.
Energetic host Fort Knox warmed up the crowd partnering with DJ Infamous as if they were preparing for Mayweather to come out for a boxing fight. When the crowd turned all the way up, Ludacris hit the stage with “Welcome to Atlanta” the anthem that gave the world a taste of how it goes down in the A.
Looking patriotically fashionable, Ludacris wore American flag polo, leather shorts adorned with gold zippers and Adidas Mutumbo retro sneakers. This man knows how to make a fashion statement while looking comfortable without overdoing it. I noticed what appeared to be a large pair of red diamonds in his ears-another indication that the $75 million Celebrity Net Worth rates him at means he now has the luxury of having Lorraine Schwartz send them special delivery to the crib.
In a perfectly timed medley of all of his bangers from Word of Mouf, to snippets of his 8th upcoming studio album Ludaversal, he entertained fans with Disturbing Tha Peace member Lil Fate with a show packed with something for everybody. This included dancers of all sorts-even the ones that came equipped with poles. His comedic sense was in full throttle and was synchronized with his quick spitting rhymes. Backed by a 5 piece band, this was a performance not far from Super Bowl status.
