What Makeup Brushes are ESSENTIAL?

As an Professional Makeup Artist, my Brush collection is extremely large. It is large due to absolute necessity, however, the key word is “Professional” Makeup Artist. If you are purchasing brushes for personal use or even starting out your Makeup Artistry career, it is great to start with a small foundation of the the essentials. I will list them below, however, I want to touch on some key information to know before we dive in.

The key to any brushes effectiveness is the material it is composed of, its really very simple to understand, but key! Synthetic Fibers are great for for cream or liquid products, this is due to their less porous nature. These products would include , foundation, concealer, etc. The next available material is Natural Fibers these are usually a form of animal hair, and are great for dry products, such as eye shadows, blushes, etc.

OK Great! Now we know the Fibers we need lets get down to the types of brushes and their individual uses.
