Mariah Carey’s ‘Elusive Chanteuse’ Tour Receive Negative Reviews

Mariah Carey’s ‘Elusive Chanteuse’ Tour Receive Negative Reviews

Mariah Carey kicked off her new tour in Tokyo over the weekend, “Elusive Chanteuse.”  She’s said to have performed over 20 classic songs from her musical arsenal.  Unfortunately, her live performance was met with unease, as some attendees vented on social media that she vocally struggled throughout the concert.

The video clips below do confirm some of the rumblings.  Take a peek at Ms. Carey fighting through “Hero” and “My All.”

Keep in mind, Mariah has been off the scene for a while, let alone embarked on an extensive tour, so it’s very possible this won’t be an occurrence for the other 19 scheduled dates. She also ran into technical difficulties with her microphone.  I’m hoping these were first show mishaps that will be rectified.

Moreover, reports claim Mariah possibly took a shot at her soon to be ex-husband Nick Cannon while singing a rendition of Billie Holiday’s “Don’t Explain.”  She sang the original lyrics “Cry to hear folks chatter/And I know you cheat/Right or wrong, don’t matter/When you’re with me, sweet but added “I know you cheated, mother*cker.”

Her cover wasn’t bad, at all! I’m going to go out on a limb and say the few clips posted on social media are just that, clips. The show in itself was 2+ hours long. I’m sure she seamlessly pulled through some of her hits. And seeing that she’s going through a very public divorce, I won’t attack one of her last sacred places left…the stage.

Pull through, Mariah! We’re rooting for you!
