This past Tuesday I had the pleasure of attending a Meet and Greet for Platinum-selling R&B Diva KeKe Wyatt to introduce her new stage play written and directed by Alvin Moore, Jr., In God’s Hands.
At the event, which was hosted by RLJ Entertainment, media had the opportunity to watch the trailer for the film, learn about the company from RLJ President Nina Henderson Moore, and have a Q&A with KeKe.
Let me say that KeKe is extremely gorgeous, has a humbling, God-driven spirit, and has a very outgoing and silly personality! She made the event very laid-back and enjoyable.
In the play, produced by One Village Entertainment and Swirl Films, KeKe plays “Angie”, a former drug addict who is now a single mother that gave up her dreams to be a singer. She plays along side acting veterans Omar Gooding, Tommy Ford, and Cynthia Kaye. She says that they gave her good acting tips, although she pretended as if she wasn’t listening, and that if she had to choose between singing, acting, and reality tv on which she liked most she would choose acting because it’s a challenge for her stating that singing comes natural and reality tv is her being her.
She also says that she probably would never do Broadway because it’s too much to remember between lines and songs and in the future she would love to do a variety show similar to Carol Burnett since she has about 15 different personalities living inside of her.
In God’s Hands will be available for digital download and DVD on Amazon and iTunes on July 15 and her new EP, KeKe, is in stores now!
