Melissa McCarthy is hands down the funniest comedienne on the planet. Whether she’s a tomboyish bridesmaid, over the top cop, or mom hating psychopath–you have to admit the girl will make your sides split from laughter! Well now Melissa is back and this times she has new persona, “Tammy!” Tammy is your All-American girl who is having the WORST day of her life. She is already stuck in a dead end job at some burger joint with horrible pay, totals her car, discovers her husband is cheating on her, and finally loses her job at the aforementioned burger joint. This series of unfortunate events pushes her over the edge! She opts to make a clean break and head anywhere but home. Unfortunately, with no money or transportation her grandmother, Pearl, is her only way out. The only problem is grandma’s psyched to see Niagara Falls! Can you say “wacky road trip?”
This film has all the making of a hit! Anything with Melissa is guaranteed to be funny. Then, when you add Susan Sarandon as her mother it only ups the ante! There has been a lot of buzz surrounding this film. Not just because of how funny it will be, but because McCarthy actually co-wrote this film! Right! An original masterpiece from a–to say the least–unique woman! I have to say seeing McCarthy as “Tammy” is making me flashback to any really crappy day I have ever had and wanted to yell “F–k it!” to the world. Thus, this film is going to have a huge fan base that anyone can relate to. It is just too bad we cannot go on a rampage like she does in the trailer. For some reason she and her life look they have been going toe to toe with The Hulk and Juggernaut! Catch “Tammy” in theaters everywhere on July 2nd!
