Miss Jessie’s and KinkyCurly at half the price? Say what?!

Three Sisters Say “YES!”

To all my naturalistas, raise your hands if you love your favorite conditioner but sometimes go back to Pantene because your fave is a little pricey. I know I have been there. I love Miss Jessie’s and KinkyCurly as much as the next girl, but $35 for a conditioner? $33 for a styler? Sometimes, I have to leave those on the shelf. Imagine my delight when I saw III Sisters of Nature. This line (actually created by three sisters!) of co-washes, conditioners, and stylers promises to deliver the results of the more expensive brands at a fraction of the cost.

I purchased sample sizes of the leave-in/co-wash, conditioner and styler to test their claims (at a mere $3 a piece compared to other samples at $9 each) and these were my findings.

Leave-in conditioner.Three Sisters’ leave-in can serve as a co-wash, leave-in conditioner, and a daily moisturizer. I liked it better as a leave-in and daily moisturizer than as a co-wash. It definitely helps to seal moisture in the hair shaft and for that very reason, I had my doubts about whether my hair actually got cleaned. I would be interested to try their clarifying shampoo and other true co-washes.

Sweet Honeyrose treatment Vs. Miss Jessie’s Super Sweetback treatment.  Absolutely loved this. Compared to Miss Jessie’s Sweetback treatment, this conditioner gave my hair the same slip, bounce and shine. So easy to comb thru, NO hair in the comb afterwards and my Hair is THICK.

NaturalCurlingGelo

Natural Curling Gelo vs. KinkyCurly‘s Curling Custard. Great, however, you have to make sure you evenly distribute. It is very similar to KinkyCurly‘s custard in that way; the product is so concentrated that it feels like you do not have enough but using too much wastes it and your hair will be sticky. That’s why KinkyCurly advises applying to soaking wet hair and I would suggest the same with this. It does provide great definition and a soft hold.

Overall very pleased and commend the developers for dropping the prices on “designer” hair care.

Where to buy: Sally’s and Walmart. Notice that the fair price is part of the label–so you know you are not being overcharged.
