Beauty products being non-toxic are one of the main things I look for before I feature any products at Kontrol. With September being Self-Care Awareness Month, I saw this as a great opportunity to highlight non-toxic cosmetics. There are many forms of self-care. Choosing between a product that contains toxic chemicals verses something that was made with safe and or naturally grown ingredients is a no-brainer kind of question.
I believe that non-toxic beauty standards will determine the future of the cosmetic industry from what we’ll be wearing down to the way beauty products are produced.
Also, I simply refuse to be quiet about a good thing, especially when it comes to new non-toxic beauty products. Think of it as Kontrol helping you make the most informed decision for your self-care and beauty routines. A thing to be aware of is the proper use of terminology when it comes to topics like non-toxic beauty products. There’s no governing body that regulates the use of the word “natural.” So, understand that when you see the use of that word it is describing products there were produced from materials harvested from an organic source.
Who doesn’t love a clean/non-toxic deodorant? There is no solid evidence on the aluminum in deodorant contributing to Alzheimer’s disease. However, the concern with aluminum in antiperspirants and similar products is that they’re linked to breast cancers. Self-care is knowing what’s going inside of your body.
A healthy beauty regimen includes a good moisturizer but a great regimen includes a serum. I love serums, they go on smooth and absorb easily into the skin. A toner is one of those essential basics that we all need. Don’t go without one.
