Sneakerheads look out! The Off-White x Nike collaboration is happening and ready to go in just a couple of days. The two brands have created a capsule collection of ten sneakers that relate to basketball and running.
Designed by Virgil Abloh, founder and creative designer of Off-White, ten chosen sneakers have been split into two packs; the “REVEALING” pack and the “GHOSTING” pack. The collection features ten iconic silhouettes of Nike, Jordan, and Converse shoes.
The “REVEALING” pack comes out first, featuring the Air Jordan 1, Nike Air Max 90, Nike Air Presto, Nike Air VaporMax and Nike Blazer Mid. The pack is expected to be pre-released at NikeLab locations during this year’s New York Fashion Week, which is held September 9-13. Followed with Releases in London, Milan, and Paris.
However, the “GHOSTING” pack which includes Nike Air Max 97, React Hyperdunk, Air Force 1, Zoom Vaporfly, and Chuck Taylor All-Star. These sneakers will feature translucent uppers and will be released worldwide in November at the same time of the official release of the “REVEALING” pack. That’s a lot going on at the same time, right?
Virgil was originally inspired by visiting Nike and designing a pair of shoes that he gifted to one of his staff members. The pair were triple black Air Force 1, that he altered with an X-ACTO knife and some markers.
Celebrities like Leron James, Wiz Khalifa, and Ian Connor have already received pairs of shoes from the collection as gifts from Virgil. Connor even staged a treasure hunt, hiding a pair in a fountain in Paris. Also, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Illz, A$AP Bari, Luka Sabbat, Theophilus London, Travis Scott, Tremaine Emory, were given pairs during this years Men’s fashion week.
People patiently waiting to get at this new collection can expect to see the “REVEALING” pack come out September 9-14 in New York. They will be released in London September 18-22, Milan September 21-25, and Paris September 26-30. The “GHOSTING” pack is expected to come out sometime in November. Price points for the collection have yet to be revealed.
