Saturday night outside of Miami’s Prime 112, an Oprah fan’s wishes came true in the most unexpected way. Lori Geller-Bender was headed into Prime, one of Miami’s premier restaurants, when she saw Oprah get into her SUV. Oprah had just concluded dinner with long time friend Gayle King, celebrating the conclusion of her “The Life You Want Weekend” in Miami. Geller tells the NY Post as the truck began to pull away it rolled right over her foot.
Geller went on to say that immediately the driver put the truck in reverse, and Oprah jumped out to aid her. Luckily, there was no serious injury. Oprah was friendly, and even took pictures. Lori said,
““The driver reversed off my foot and Oprah jumped out. She couldn’t have been nicer and more gracious. She looked really shocked and asked me if I was OK, and took a good look at my foot. I wasn’t hurt, and I told her I was fine. Oprah said, “Well, that’s worth a picture,’ and she put her arm around me and we took some photos. It has always been on my bucket list to meet Oprah, but I could never have imagined it would be because her driver ran over my toe”.
Talk about a stroke of fate. I’m sure Oprah’s driver had an intense ride home. Luckily for everyone there were no injuries, and Oprah and Lori were both great sports about it.
